Thank Goodness for Friends

Postby Nightwatch » Mon Feb 01, 2010 10:55 am

Got to go sailing last Thursday on a friends Gemini Cat. With boards mostly up, we could make it out the canal. We had light wind sailing in the sound. The wind started to build to 8 knots about 3 PM when we had to start in. Hey, it was sailing. Going in and out of the canal, the entrance was short a foot more  water than I need to get out. I am getting tired of looking out the ports and seeing the underside of the dock. Oh well, we are into Feb and spring can not be far behind..., I think. Feb 1st and 38 degrees in FL. Who'd of thunk it?

Glad you got the chance to go sailing. We really want to get out sailing, but we're still stuck in the mud too. We're looking forward to spring!

My dad/step-mom own a Gem and they try to keep up with other active Gemini owners. Do you know the hull number and vessel name of your friends vessel?

Hey Mike.

Hope all is well with you. Still getting out on the bay at least twice a week?

It's definitely time to launch The Force. We keep it on the dinghy dock down at the marina, so it is always ready to go. Probably will put the sails up this weekend, so Blake can at least sail around the bayou.

My dad/step-mom got Blake a t-shirt for Christmas that has "The Force" on the back and "Captain Blake Harris" on the front. He can't wait to wear it this summer while sailing around McRee on The Force.

BTW, the BEER Cruise dates have been set. We did it last year and plan to do it again this year, but will be extending the trip by a few days with a couple of other boats, so if you've got the time and are interested, it would probably be a fun sailing trip around our local water for your family. The largest boat cruising is a 42', with the smallest typically around an 8'.

Ben,

The name of the boat is "C-Life". He is on the chat line for Gemini every morning. I have never checked out the sight, but its cool in that these owners trade info on every problem or idea they have about the brand. I have tried and so have others to get a Durbeck owners group started, with no luck. Most owners from the NE, (they do not talk to strangers) or are to old to use a computer.
Do not know the hull number, but it is 5 years old this spring. The owners name is Kent. Lives in Tiger Point.

Thanks, I'll pass that info on to them; I'm sure they've already read the name on the chat line. That's the truth that the Gem owners definitely stick together!
